For English Teachers

As a current TEFL Professor for an internationally accredited TEFL certification course, I can guide you through research-based best teaching practices. You may already be TEFL certified and need a refresher or haven’t yet received your certification.

Sample content can include:

  • Lesson Plan Development or Improvement

  • How to Assess your Students

  • EFL Grammar Review

  • Error Correction Techniques

  • Using Technology

As an additional option, I can provide you with feedback on your recorded ESL lesson and how to strengthen your teaching practice based on my observations.

General English

A custom-tailored curriculum designed to build upon your current level of English - or to get you started.  Whether you are a brand-new beginner to English or have been studying the language for some time, I will design a plan based on your goals to build your proficiency to reach your specific goals.

What to expect:

You communicate your goals and preferences for lessons to me, and I will create the plan.  For example, do you want to read, write, or strengthen your listening comprehension during lessons?  Do grammar drills?  Focus on accent reduction or pronunciation correction?  Your lessons will be customized for your goals and preferences.

Conversational English

Navigating English conversation can be intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be; it simply takes practice and targeted feedback to feel more confident and comfortable.

What to expect:

In conversation lessons, you or I will choose the topic in advance, or it can simply flow freely.  During the conversation, I will note which errors you make.  Toward the end of the lesson, you and I will go over those errors together and make corrections.  These errors could be grammar, pronunciation, or vocabulary-based.

Business English

As a former senior military representative for multinational negotiations, I have several years of experience in the art of professional communication and would love to provide you and your employees with the necessary English tools to conduct business domestically and abroad.

What to expect:

I can travel to your place of business and deliver in-person lessons to your team that are tailored to meet the needs of your company, whether you are a multinational corporation or do business with companies abroad and need to use English as part of your daily or occasional work requirements.

Optionally, you may choose online lessons as well.

Academic English

Thesis/Dissertation Editing or TOEFL/IELTS preparation lessons

If you are a student working on your Thesis or Dissertation, I offer editing services in which I review your literature, resources, and citations, in addition to reviewing and editing your grammar and mechanics.

Additionally, if you are planning to take the IELTS or TOEFL proficiency tests, I am able to prepare you for exam day. Successful proficiency tests require not only a strong competency in English but also an awareness of the test structure itself, as well as test-taking strategies and an understanding of how you will be graded.

What to expect:

After a free 30-minute consultation, Thesis/Dissertation editing work will start with a 1-hour face-to-face Zoom meeting to discuss and review your current work and desired outcomes. I will then complete editing work asynchronously (independently) within an agreed-upon number of hours. We will then meet again for a 1-hour face-to-face follow-up to review edits.

IETLS and TOEFL test prep will follow a prescribed set of lessons using practice tests and activities based directly off of the applicable test.
